Almond Butter

After reading all the food processor recipes for almond butter and how much PATIENCE was required (and almost half an hour of your time!), trying this for the first time truly astounded me. After 40 seconds I had smooth, creamy almond butter.

1 1/2 cups dry roasted almonds

Add almonds to Blendtec Twister Jar and place twister lid on jar. Hold twister lid and with other hand press SPEED UP to speed 7. Run for 40 seconds and press PULSE to stop. Turn twister lid counter-clockwise during blending. Add sea salt to taste.

Hummus

1/2 cup sesame seeds

Place in Twister jar and blend on the MULTI-USE setting. Then add:

2 Tbs. olive oil
1/2 cup water
2 cups chickpeas (Garbanzo beans) - drained
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 clove garlic - peeled
1/8 tsp. salt

Blend again on the MULTI-USE setting.

Butter

2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/4 tsp. salt

Add whipping cream to mixer bowl with french whisks and set to WHIP. Allow to run one full cycle. Then add salt and run another cycle, this time increasing the speed to 10. Refrigerate or freeze butter.
