Laundry Detergent Recipes
Basic Recipe:
Add to blender jar in this order:
1 cup washing soda
1/2 bar Fels Naptha soap, diced
Set to SPEED 2 and run full cycle. Then repeat. Pour into a large bowl, then add:
2 cup Borax
2 cups baking soda
1 cup Epsom salt
5 drops of each essential oil: lemon, bergamot, & grapefruit
Mix well with a fork.
Use 2 Tbs. of detergent per load.
Baby Detergent:
1 bar baby mild Castile soap
3 cups washing soda
3 cups Borax
2 cups baking soda
1 cup Epsom salt
Set to Multi-Use and run full cycle.
Use 1/4 cup of detergent per load.
Use 1/4 cup of detergent per load.

Split Pea Soup
- 2 cups dried split peas
- 1 quart cold water
- 1 quart chicken stock
- 1 1/2 pounds ham hock
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 5 stalks celery, chopped
- 5carrots, chopped
- 2 potatoes, diced
Directions
- Add first three ingredients to crock-pot and soak overnight.
- Once peas are soaked, add to crock-pot: ham bone, onion, salt, and pepper. Cover, cook on high for 3 hours.
- Add celery, carrots and potatoes. Cook on low for 1 hour or until vegetables are tender. Remove ham hock & set aside.
- Remove half of soup to the Blendtec blender. Blend on MULTI-USE setting for full time. Add back to crock-pot. Remove ham from ham hock and add to soup.
- Serve with biscuits.

Peach Ice Cream
1 C. half and half
2 1/2 C. frozen peaches
1/2 C. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1/2 C. ice cubes
Place ingredients in blender jar as listed. Press the ICE CREAM button.
Note: It may only take 15 seconds to complete this ice cream. If it looks complete, press the STOP button.

Combine above ingredients in separate container and mix. Add to blender jar and press the SOUPS button. Seal and refrigerate.

Peanut Butter Caramel Apple Dip

8 oz. cream cheese, softened

Carrie's Salsa Verde
8 tomatillos (w/shells removed)
3-4 jalapenos
4-5 cayenne peppers (if you want it hot)
½ bunch cilantro
3 avacados
1 bunch green onions
3 garlic cloves
Salt to taste
Boil tomatillos, jalapeno, & cayenne peppers in enough water to cover until they change color (to olive) for about 10-15
mins. Cool (can be done a day ahead).
Meanwhile, chop cilantro, avocados, and green onion. Put 1/3 in
blender. Add tomatillo mixture (save water for later to thin if desired), add
garlic and salt. Blend using PULSE button. Add to remaining chopped ingredients.

1 (28 oz.) can whole peeled tomatoes (juice drained)
½ bunch cilantro
¼ yellow onion
1-2 jalapenos (add more or less for desired heat)
2 garlic cloves
1 lemon (juiced)
1/2 tsp. salt
Puree all ingredients in blender and press PULSE button until salsa reaches desired consistency.
Simple Whole Wheat Bread
3 cups warm water
- 1 Tbs. active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup honey or brown sugar
- 5 1/2 cups bread flour
- Add to Blendtec mixing bowl
set to BREAD setting. Allow to mix for 1 minute. Let set for 30 minutes, or until big and bubbly. Then add:
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/3 cup honey or brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
While still on BREAD setting, press start and watch until dough begins to pull away from the bowl. Then press AUTO KNEAD button. When it stops, place dough in a greased bowl, turning once to coat the surface of the dough. Cover with a dishtowel. Let rise in a warm oven until doubled. (About 1 hour.)
Punch down, and divide into 3 loaves. Place in greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pans, and allow to rise until dough has topped the pans by one inch. (45 min - 1 hour.)
Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes; do not overbake. Lightly brush the tops of loaves with 2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine when done to prevent crust from getting hard. Cool completely.

Place in Twister jar and blend on the MULTI-USE setting. Then add:

1/2 cup water
2 cups chickpeas (Garbanzo beans) - drained
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 clove garlic - peeled
1/8 tsp. salt
Blend again on the MULTI-USE setting.
Place in Twister jar and blend on the MULTI-USE setting. Then add:

1/2 cup water

Add whipping cream to mixer bowl with french whisks and set to WHIP. Allow to run one full cycle. Then add salt and run another cycle, this time increasing the speed to 10. When butter looks desired consistency, scrape into a strainer over a bowl. Allow buttermilk to drain off for at least 1-2 hours.
Refrigerate or freeze butter.
